Hearts

Another Butterfly block ready to applique.  This is slow stitching!! I am linking up with Kathy's Quilts  http://kathysquilts.blogspot.com. Come and Visit Kathy's blog to see what others are "slow stitching".

The pretty heart is a pattern from Handy Hands Catalog and tatted  with some new thread called Red Poppy.   The little tatted basket on the green will be filled with silk ribbon flowers.  The cross stitch fox and bee was worked on linen and waste canvas on top. The linen someone brought into the Sr Center where I have classes and chit chat on Wed. The linen was used as a grease rag and with lots of elbow and Shout, I was able to salvage quite a bit of it. Beautiful piece of linen.

This pretty tatted heart is a pattern from Nancy Tracy.

Snowman quilt and projects

Here is the finished quilt with over 600 hours of handquilting.  Today I am linking up with Kathy's Quilts on Slow Stitching.  http://kathysquilts.blogspot.com

Which project do I choose to work on. The butterfly block is almost completed so I will finish it. The work is all in the prep cutting out the shapes and then back basting. I like to use silk threads as it is very fine but sometimes I will use a color in Sulky. The crossstitch is a long term project and can be picked up at any time. My tatted doily I work on in the evening and have a few more rounds before adding the final chain around. I am machine quilting the quilt in the background. Will hand quilt around the applique.
Will post the finished block later in the week.

Tat It and SEE 2015

Here is Part 1 and 2 of Jane Eborall's TIAS 2015. The thread is size 20 and the color is Blue Ice #163. The tatting bag is one of many gifts from my dear friend in Portugal, Maria. I love these shuttle and tatting bags.

Rectangle Tatted Doily

This is the first and second round of Bruce's Tatted Doily by Nancy Tracy.  www.be-stitched.com  If you are new to tatting I highly recommend Nancy's website and sign up for her free pattern of the month.   I purchased some new threads from Handy Hands, This one is  Purple Berry Twist in size 10. No problems tatting with the thread but a knot appeared just before I completed the round...UGH

Butterfly landing on a Cosmos.  An Applique BOM by Apple Blossom Quilts, Connie Sue Haidle.  http://www.appleblossomquilts.com
It is a bright and cherry flower to work on during the cold, wintery snow we are having in Eastern New Mexico. Saturday we received 8 inches of snow and only 1 degree for a low and all the way up to 30 for a high. Have not seen 40 degrees in over 2 weeks. Sure hope that "Polar Express" goes somewhere else!!!!(:
